St. Michael the Archangel's Convent

St. Michael the Archangel's Convent stands in the settlement of Chechelnyk in the Vinnytsia region. The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church formed the house on 27 October 2015, by journal No. 45 of its session, on the site of the parish in honour of the Holy Archangel Michael of that same settlement, and by the same act accepted and registered its statute¹.

The eparchy names Schema-Archimandrite Iona (Storchak) as the founder of the house and the builder of its cathedral. He is buried in the cemetery beside the monastery church, and in June 2020 the ruling bishop prayed there for his repose^{2, 3}.

Besides the cathedral the house has a winter church in honour of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos: in January 2022 a Divine Liturgy was served in it by candlelight⁴. Among the holy things of the monastery is an icon of Saint Mary Magdalene, Equal to the Apostles, with a particle of her relics³.

The eparchy reported the keeping of the fifth anniversary of the foundation on 4 August 2021: five hierarchs, abbesses of monasteries, clergy and laity of the Tulchyn and other eparchies took part, and two choirs sang at the Divine Liturgy, among them the convent's own³.
