Ven. Anastasia of Kyiv's Convent

The convent in honour of Saint Anastasia of Kyiv stands in the village of Kovalivka in the Kyiv region. It began from a parish church: in 2007 the building of a church of the Holy Martyr Tatiana was started here at the expense of ktitors, and in 2009 a monastic house was founded at that church². The opening of the convent in honour of Saint Anastasia of Kyiv was blessed by the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at its session of 24 November 2009, by journal No. 66¹.

Saint Anastasia of Kyiv, to whom the house is dedicated, was called Aleksandra Romanova in the world and died in 1900^{2, 3}.

On 25 April 2014 the newly built church in the name of the Great Martyr Tatiana was consecrated by a council of hierarchs, and the Divine Liturgy after the consecration was celebrated in that same church; the ktitor of the church prayed at the service together with the sisters of the house⁴. A monument to Saint Tatiana was later set up on the monastery grounds, and also a monument to the reposed Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Volodymyr, raised by the efforts of the ktitors' family⁵. An icon of the Holy Martyr Tatiana with a particle of her relics is kept in the church⁸.

The house has two patronal feasts, of Saint Anastasia of Kyiv and of the Holy Martyr Tatiana³. The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church led the patronal feast of Saint Tatiana here on 25 January of 2019, 2020 and 2022^{5, 7, 8}, and on 30 April 2019, the Tuesday of Bright Week, he celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the convent's church of Saint Tatiana⁶.
