The press service of the Rivne eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reported that the monastic tonsure of two novices took place on 1 January 2026, on the eve of the night Divine Liturgy, on the day of remembrance of the Venerable Amphilochius of Pochaiv the Wonderworker, the Holy Martyr Boniface and the Venerable Elijah of Murom. The eparchy named the place as the St George metochion of the Horodok St Nicholas women’s monastery in the city of Rivne.
According to the press service, the rite was performed by Metropolitan Pymen, the ruling bishop of the Rivne and Ostroh eparchy. He congratulated the newly tonsured sisters on an important event in their lives and wished them spiritual strength, humility and constant prayer.
