Transfiguration Monastery

The Transfiguration Monastery for men in the village of Talova Balka in the Kirovohrad region is a newly-established house of the Oleksandriya eparchy, established by decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church¹. On 15 January 2026 Metropolitan Boholep of Oleksandriya and Svitlovodsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the newly-established house¹.

The monastery's main church is dedicated to All Saints Who Shone Forth in Our Land². On 2 April 2026 Metropolitan Boholep performed a monastic tonsure there: archpriest Oleksiy took the name Arsenius in honour of Venerable Arsenius of the Caves, and novice Vitaliy took the name Euphrosynus in honour of Venerable Euphrosynus of Palestine².

On 1 August 2026 Metropolitan Boholep celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the monastery, after which the clergy and the faithful processed to the site of the future construction of the house's second church, where the archpastor performed the rite of laying the foundation stone for the new church - in honour of St Spyridon of Trimythous³.

On 25 August 2026 three clergy of the eparchy were tonsured into monasticism at the monastery; the newly-tonsured received the names Ahafon, Anikita and Herasym⁴.
