Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery

The Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery stands in the village of Korzhivtsi in the Khmelnytskyi region, in the Khmelnytskyi eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Its buildings were erected in 1742 by Uniates in a defensive style, and the thick walls of the monastery still recall this today^{1, 2}.

In times of persecution the monastery was destroyed². Its revival was blessed by the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at its session of 14 June 2011, by journal No. 35³; according to the eparchy, monastic life in Korzhivtsi was restored that same year by the ruling bishop, Metropolitan Antonii of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv¹.

The solemn opening of the monastery took place on 12 July 2012: Metropolitan Antonii, concelebrating with the clergy of the Derazhnia deanery, served the Divine Liturgy on the monastery grounds, after which a cross procession moved to the temporary Sts Peter and Paul church².

For his active part in reviving the house, the metropolitan presented its patron - a native of the village of Korzhivtsi who was, at the time, a People's Deputy of Ukraine - with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church's Order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr, Second Degree; other benefactors involved in the restoration work received archpastoral commendation letters².
