A men's monastery dedicated to St. Luke the Apostle and Evangelist was opened in 2009 in the village of Laky (now Horianka), Bakhchysaray district, in Crimea, at an already-standing village parish church of the same dedication1, 2. That church had been built back in 1904 on the site of an earlier one2. In the Soviet period the village emptied out, and the church suffered significant damage2.
The monastery's opening was blessed by the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at its session of 24 November 2009, by Journal No. 67, on the report of the Right Reverend Lazar, Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea1.
As of 2011 the house was building a church dedicated to St. Barbara the Great Martyr, and a fraternal building had been fitted out2.
