History:
The monastery of the Protection of the Mother of God stands in the town of Oleksandriya, Kirovohrad region2.
The house was founded by a decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of 8 May 20122. On that day, on the report of Bishop Antoniy of Oleksandriya and Svitlovodsk concerning the opening of the Holy Protection men's monastery in Oleksandriya, the Synod blessed that opening1.
The monastery is being built near the church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, raised in the 1990s, which after the establishment of the Oleksandriya eparchy in 2007 received the status of cathedral church2.
The patronal feast of the house is the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, 1 (14) October3.
