In the village of Ispas, in the Vyzhnytsia district of the Chernivtsi region, there is a men's monastery in honour of Saint Seraphim of Sarov of the Chernivtsy and Bukovyna Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church1.
The house came into being by a decision of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, on the petition of the ruling bishop. On 27 October 2015 the Synod heard the report of Meletiy, Archbishop of Chernivtsy and Bukovyna, on the establishment at Ispas of a men's monastery in honour of Saint Seraphim of Sarov1. The session was presided over by His Beatitude Onufrii, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, and by journal No. 45 the Synod blessed the establishment of the house and the acceptance and registration of its Statute1.
Reporting to the Council of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on 29 January 2016, the Primate named the house at Ispas among seven monasteries - four men's and three women's - established by the Holy Synod in the period since the Council of Bishops of 13 August 20142.
