St. Sergius of Radonezh's Convent

The women's house in the village of Serhiivka, Sloviansk district, in the Donetsk region, was established in 2002 at a newly built parish church of St Sergius of Radonezh with a lower chapel of the Martyr Victor of Corinth¹. The first is commemorated on 5 (18) July and 25 September (8 October), the second on 31 January (13 February)².

The building of the monastery yard left dated traces behind it. By 2003 the house had a cell block and a refectory¹. In 2007 the fitting-out of quarters for pilgrims in the basement floor of the residential building was completed¹.

In 2008 a guest house for the bishop and clergy was finished, and the monument on the common grave of Soviet soldiers who fell in the Second World War, standing on the monastery's ground, was renewed¹. At the same time an icon of St Sergius of Radonezh with a particle of his relics was brought to the house, painted in Sergiyev Posad, where the Trinity Lavra of St Sergius that he founded stands³.

The building of a summer church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia was begun in 2010¹.
