The house where the rite and the Liturgy took place is Flor’s Ascension Convent in Kyiv.
According to the Information and Education Department of the UOC, before the Divine Liturgy on 4 December 2024, the feast of the Entry into the Temple of Our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine together with the hierarchs consecrated three altars in the convent’s Kazan cathedral, renewed after the period of Soviet destruction: in the name of the Mother of God, in the name of the Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian, and in honour of the martyrs Florus and Laurus.
The same report states that the Primate led the Divine Liturgy at the convent and that abbesses of monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church prayed at the service. The press service of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, which also reported the service, adds that the convent’s superior, Igumenia Yevlampiia (Yeliseikina), prayed with the sisters, as did parishioners and pilgrims of the monastery.
Both reports state that petitions were offered at the Liturgy for peace in the Ukrainian land and for those who had lost their homes, and that after the Liturgy a rite of glorification was performed before the icon of the Entry into the Temple, after which the Primate greeted the faithful on the feast.
