The Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, citing the press service of the Mukachevo eparchy, reported that on 9 August 2026 Metropolitan Feodor of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod performed the rite of consecration of the altar in the new church of the monastery in the village of Rakoshyno. According to the same report, the church was built in honour of the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon.
The house whose church received the rite is the Protection of the Mother of God Monastery in the Mukachevo district of the Zakarpattya region.
After the consecration of the altar Metropolitan Feodor led the Divine Liturgy; according to the report he was concelebrated by the monastery's brethren and numerous guests in holy orders. The eparchy notes that special petitions were offered at the service for peace in the Ukrainian land, for an end to the war and for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and that a procession around the church followed the Liturgy.
In closing, the ruling bishop of the eparchy addressed those present with a sermon and congratulated the monastery's ihumen, Archimandrite Mytrofan (Shymon), the brethren and the parishioners of the house on the consecration of the new church, thanking them for their labours in building and furnishing it.
