Archimandrite Petro (Kryvytskyi), a member of the “She Who is Quick to Hear” monastery at Babai, killed
On 15 July 2025 Archimandrite Petro (Kryvytskyi), a member of the community of the monastery of the icon of the Mother of God “She Who is Quick to Hear” at Babai in the Kharkiv region, was killed by a hostile drone strike.

On 15 July 2025 Archimandrite Petro (in the world Petro Ivanovych Kryvytskyi), a member of the community of the “She Who is Quick to Hear” Icon of the Mother of God Monastery at Babai in the Kharkiv region, departed to the Lord as a result of a hostile drone strike. This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv eparchy.

Archimandrite Petro was born on 1 November 1957 in the village of Korostiv in the Lviv region. He was ordained deacon on 24 March 1980 and priest on 27 December 1981, and in 1995 he was made an archpriest; his ministry was spent in the churches of the Kharkiv eparchy.

On Great Thursday, 2 May 2024, he was tonsured a monk in that same monastery and received the name of the holy Apostle Peter, and on 7 May of the same year he was raised to the rank of archimandrite. The ruling bishop, the clergy and the faithful of the eparchy expressed their grief and pray for the repose of his soul.

The circumstances of his death are known only from the report of the eparchial press service; we found no confirmation from any state body.
