The Svyatogirsk Lavra damaged twice by shelling, in August and September 2025
On the night of 15 August 2025, during shelling of Sviatohirsk, the glass and the film standing in its place were blown out almost throughout the monastery, and on 16 September the police of the Donetsk region reported a strike on the ninth building of the Lavra: windows and doors blown out and the façade damaged, with no one inside hurt.

On the night of 15 August 2025 the town of Sviatohirsk came under shelling, in the course of which the Svyatogirsk Holy Dormition Lavra was damaged: almost throughout the monastery the glass in the windows, and the film standing in its place, were blown out. This was reported by the Ternopil eparchy, which, with cold weather approaching, opened a collection to replace them.

On 16 September 2025 the police of the Donetsk region reported a further strike on the Lavra: in the ninth building of the monastery windows and doors were blown out and the façade of the building was damaged. At about four in the afternoon clergy and faithful were inside; none of them was hurt.

The two occasions rest on different evidence: the September one was described by the regional police, the August one by the Ternopil eparchy, and we found no other source for it. What else, besides glass and film, was damaged in August is not stated in the report.
