Rudosilsk Icon of the Mother of God Convent

The Convent of the Rudosilsk Icon of the Mother of God is a women's monastic house in the village of Rude Selo in the Bila Tserkva district of Kyiv region¹. The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church established it on 17 August 2021, by journal No. 27 of its session; the same session also brought into being another new house, in honour of the Praise of the Most Holy Theotokos in the Mukachevo eparchy^{2, 3}.

The Synod had already established liturgical veneration of the Rudosilsk icon itself on 1 April 2015, six years before the monastery's founding: at that session it approved a troparion and kontakion for the icon, and before long the first official celebration of the day took place^{4, 5}.

The Bila Tserkva eparchy also instituted its own award named after the same icon, the Rudosilsk Icon of the Mother of God, first class; over the years it was given, among others, to the rector of a newly consecrated church (2019) and to a layman (2025)^{6, 7}.

The monastery's house church is dedicated not to the icon itself but to the Synaxis of St John the Forerunner; in 2026 the ruling bishop, Metropolitan Augustin of Bila Tserkva and Bohuslav, presided over the service marking that church's patronal feast¹.
