Krasnogorskiy All Saints' Monastery

The Krasnohorsk community did not begin on an empty site: journal no. 9 of the session of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of 19 June 2014 blessed the creation of the Krasnohorsk monastery of All Saints of the Mukachevo eparchy on the site of a parish dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow", in the village of Lavky, Mukachevo district, Zakarpattia region, and the adoption and registration of the monastery's statute¹. In its own list of monasteries the Mukachevo eparchy carries the community among its own².

The dedication can be read from the day of the patronal feast: it falls on the Sunday of All Saints. On 27 June 2021 the ruling bishop of the eparchy led the festal Liturgy; for this feast, as the eparchy notes, "a great many people had already traditionally gathered" at the monastery, and at the end of the service a procession was made⁵. The parish on whose site the monastery arose has remained in its calendar: on 6 November, the day of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow", the Divine Liturgy and a procession are held at the monastery — as they were in 2023 and again in 2025^{11, 12}.

One of the community's holy objects is bound up with a misfortune it lived through. On 21 June 2015 the icon of the Mother of God "the Unburnt Bush" was brought here: the superior, in the eparchy's words, had long dreamed of this image, "for several years ago the Krasnohorsk community suffered from fire", and before this icon people have long prayed for deliverance from fire and from lightning strike³.

The brotherhood grew before the eparchy's eyes. On 26 December 2020 the monastery's novice Serhii Kohutych was tonsured into the mantia with the name Sofronii, in honour of Saint Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem⁴. On 5 July 2022 two more members of the community, graduates of the Kyiv Theological Seminary, were tonsured and received the names Kyryl and Nazarii⁶. On 3 March 2023 the novice Serhii Telyha was tonsured into the riasophore with the name Kyprian, in honour of the hieromartyr Cyprian of Carthage⁹, and on 19 March of the same year the hierodeacon Nazarii (Kotes) was ordained hieromonk and the monk Kyprian (Telyha) was ordained hierodeacon¹⁰.

The community also has a skete of its own. On 23 November 2021, in the village of Rostoviatytsia, Mukachevo district, the foundation of a new church in honour of the Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God was consecrated; on that site, as the eparchy reported, a skete of the Krasnohorsk monastery of All Saints is to arise⁸.

The community also keeps the day of the martyrs Proclus and Hilary: on 25 July 2025 these saints were commemorated at the Divine Liturgy in the monastery of All Saints⁷.
