At the heart of the film is a word about death. "Memento mori" (Latin) — remember death. Why did the ancients think it was so beneficial to a person, if even at the end of life not everyone believes that they will die, and they do not even suspect what will happen to them afterwards? For death is not simply the end of all vital functions, because not everything in the body dies.
Most of the film takes place on the grounds of the All Saints' skete of the Lavra.
