About this part of the section

News is the part of the Articles section that holds short reports on events in church and monastic life which the Synodal Commission of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Monastery Affairs announced separately. Each report carries its date and opens on a page of its own.

An archive, not a daily feed

The Commission is a standing church body charged with the life of the monastic houses, not a news agency: reports appear here when there is something to announce, and they stay. For current information about a house — the diocese it belongs to, where it stands, how to reach it — the monastery directory and the map are the better place to look, and what is happening at this moment is shown by the live broadcasts of services.

Where to go next

The longer texts — memoirs, conversations, archival material and documents — are gathered in Publications, documentaries and reports in Video, and all three parts together on the Articles page. The about page describes the Commission and this resource in more detail; if you hold the rights to material published here, please contact us as set out for rightsholders.
