On 1 June 2025, in the course of further shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region, the St. John the Theologian’s Convent and the church of the icon of the Mother of God “The Increaser of Grain” at Ternuvate, in the Novomykolaivskyi district, were damaged. The regent of that church, Olha, died of the wounds she received.
According to the press service of the Zaporizhzhia eparchy, she could not be saved despite the efforts of the ambulance doctors. The eparchy offered its condolences to her family and asks for prayers for the repose of her soul.
What exactly was damaged in the convent and in the church is not stated. The circumstances are known only from the eparchy’s report; we found no confirmation from any state body, and the report gives no surname for the woman who died.
