Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra

The Pochaiv Lavra of the Dormition stands in the town of Pochaiv, in the Kremenets district of the Ternopil region¹. The directory of monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church lists the monastery among those of the Kyiv eparchy, names pochaevlavra.org as its own site and keeps links to its schedule of services and to its photograph gallery¹.

The memory of the miraculous deliverance of the monastery from the Turkish invasion the Lavra keeps with a celebration of its own: for the 350th anniversary of those events, on the feast of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God, a solemn service was celebrated in the monastery, to which, as the monastery itself writes, thousands of the faithful came². The monastery posted both the full recording of the service and a separate short feature about the celebrations².

The monastery opened a video channel of its own on 13 August 2016 and signs it plainly - the official channel of the Pochaiv Lavra of the Dormition². The broadcasts go out under one unchanging title and gather around the two daily services, the morning one and the late afternoon one, by Kyiv time; in the intervals between services the channel may put on edifying audio recordings².

Every recording carries the same block of information: an e-mail address to which the monastery asks that questions and suggestions about the broadcast itself be sent, the page through which commemorations are ordered, and the monastery shop². Away from the broadcasts the channel keeps collections of its own - among them sermons and talks².
