Ukrainian Orthodox Church

This channel is run by the Synodal Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - so the channel signs itself, and so the Church's official site names that working department of its own^{1, 2}. The department works in Kyiv, on Lavrska Street¹.

The same department maintains church.ua, which calls itself the official network of sites of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church¹. That site is at once a news feed of the Church, of its eparchies and of its synodal departments, a directory listing the eparchies, the synodal departments and the theological schools, and an archive of church-wide documents and of the minutes of the sessions of the Holy Synod¹. The channel is built into that network: a link to it stands in the header and in the footer of the main site, and in a subscription widget of its own¹.

The channel was opened on 24 October 2014². Its content is laid out in named collections, and each of them is already an archive: more than seven hundred recordings of services of the Primate, more than six hundred of his sermons, over a thousand news features and several hundred issues of an Orthodox calendar².

The bulk of it consists of short edited features which the department makes from its own filming, mostly about the services of the Primate; beside them runs a separate heading of short instructions². The channel has also carried full live broadcasts: among them the Paschal service of the Primate at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in 2024². The working language of the channel is Ukrainian; only the openings of the chants themselves remain in Church Slavonic, as they are customarily called².
